Mugi Dance is a performing arts community consisting of people with various backgrounds and diciplines, such as choreographers, dancers, actors, musicians, puppet shadow masters, visual artists and designers. Mugi Dance aims to improve the Javanese performing arts tradition and Indonesian contemporary arts by creating dances based on Javanese traditional arts developed into personal expressions. To take in Solo from a slightly different angle, visitors can follow a bike tour for the day. You’ll see the countryside, witness batik weaving and gamelan making, and appreciate the art of cycling in busy streets!
- Sample the food
Solo is famous for its culinary delights. Some of Solo’s famous specialties include tengkleng pasar klewer, shijack milk, nasi liwet, bubur lemu, wedang dongo, bestik lidah, gudek ceker Bu Kasno and beef satay “Yu Rebi”. You don’t have to visit all food sites across town because now there is Gladak Langen Bogan, a food area located in Gladak at the end of Slamet Riyadi street. This is a must-see item for culinary travelers.
